These magnificent Calcio Globe Artichokes are prized Spanish delicacies, celebrated for their substantial size and remarkable flavour. Grown in Spain's prime artichoke regions where Mediterranean climate and rich soil create ideal conditions, they develop large, meaty hearts with a buttery texture and subtle sweetness.
These artichokes are valued for their generous size, substantial hearts and distinctive nutty flavour. Grown using traditional methods that prioritize quality, each artichoke develops slowly to build complex flavours and tender texture. Hand-selected at peak ripeness, they deliver an authentic Spanish artichoke experience.
Preparation: Trim stem and tough outer leaves. Cut off top third and simmer in lemon water until tender (30-40 minutes), or steam until leaves pull away easily. Serve with butter, olive oil, or aioli. Perfect for stuffing with breadcrumbs, herbs and cheese before baking.
