There is no shortcut to a good stock. Powdered cubes and concentrates offer convenience, but they cannot replicate the depth of flavour that comes from roasting real bones and simmering them slowly with fresh vegetables and herbs. Salsus chicken stock is made exactly this way — meaty chicken bones are roasted alongside onion, carrot, and leek to build a rich base, then slow-cooked with parsley, thyme, bay leaf, and pepper. The fond is strained and reduced before being packed into cartons, giving it a clean, concentrated chicken flavour with a natural body that commercial alternatives simply cannot match. No additives, no preservatives — paleo and keto diet-friendly.

Chicken stock is one of the most versatile bases in the kitchen. It underpins soups, risottos, noodle broths, and poached dishes, and adds body and depth to cream sauces, velouté, and braised chicken dishes like coq au vin and chasseur. When simmered over a long period, the chicken bones yield a viscous, flavourful liquid that provides an excellent foundation for white wine-based sauces. For jus and sauces that require significant reduction, Salsus chicken demi-glace is the better choice — the stocks are seasoned, so heavy reduction will concentrate the salt.
