Dried Morels - Extra Quality

Morllilles Spéciales Séchées

Morels are unique with their meaty texture and an earthy and nutty flavour and one of the most desired wild mushrooms in the world. They are not farmed like most mushrooms but gathered in the wild. The part that we eat is the fruiting body of the underground organism called mycelium that has a complex symbiotic relationship with trees. Every spring mushroom enthusiasts, foraging chefs, and an ever-growing group of commercial harvesters hunt these little forest treasures.

These 'extra grade' morels have been expertly dried and contain only the head section with no stalk.

Cooking Tip: Place your dried Morels into Hot Water and leave to soak for at least 30 minutes to both hydrate them, and to create a highly flavourful Morel stock. Strain the liquor in a colander lined with kitchen paper. This will remove any grit and serve a fantastic stock for soups and sauces. Place the hydrated Morels into a bowl of cold water and agitate them to remove any further grit. Repeat this process a few times until you are happy they are clean. Dry on a paper towel and use as fresh.
