Producer: Classified Premier Grand Cru in the 1855 Classification, Château Suduiraut sits in Preignac on the border of Château d'Yquem, sharing similarly varied terroirs of sandy-gravel and clay. Under AXA Millésimes ownership since 1992, the 90-hectare estate is hand-harvested in multiple passes to achieve the selective botrytis-affected picking that defines great Sauternes.
Vintage: The 2016 vintage followed an extremely dry summer with botrytis arriving late-October rather than September, producing just two or three picking passes and wines that are fresh and concentrated.
