Skrei is Iceland's seasonal culinary treasure - a migratory Arctic cod available for just a few precious months each year. These remarkable fish make an epic journey from the Barents Sea to spawn along Iceland's coastal waters, developing exceptionally firm, bright white flesh with distinct flakes that separate beautifully when cooked. Only cod meeting the strictest quality standards earn the coveted "Skrei" designation.

Unlike regular cod, Skrei offers a remarkably clean, sweet flavour with subtle mineral notes and a delicate texture that reflects its active migratory lifestyle. The flesh contains higher levels of protein and beneficial omega-3 fatty acids, while remaining exceptionally lean and pure. The pristine Arctic waters and seasonal harvest ensure each fillet represents the pinnacle of wild white fish quality.

For the finest results, pan-sear Skrei fillets in butter until just cooked through - the flesh should remain pearly white and juicy. Producer: Our Skrei is line-caught by small-scale Icelandic fishing boats during the traditional January to April season. Each fish is handled with meticulous care - bled immediately, packed in ice, and processed within 12 hours of capture.

The fish undergoes IQF blast freezing and storage at -40°C, locking in peak freshness and preserving the exceptional texture and flavour until it reaches your kitchen. This approach ensures exceptional quality while supporting sustainable fishing practices maintained for generations.
