Oro del Desierto is an organic extra virgin olive oil produced on a single estate in the Tabernas Desert — one of Europe's only true deserts, located in Almería, Andalusia. The oil is a carefully selected coupage of early-harvested Arbequina, Hojiblanca, and Picual olives, cold-extracted in two phases from fruit that is 75-80% still green at the time of picking. The proportions vary by harvest depending on the master blender's selection each year.

The result is a medium-intensity oil with a layered flavour profile — notes of freshly cut grass, green tomato, and green olive, with hints of citrus and dried fruit, a smooth texture with barely perceptible bitterness, and a clean peppery finish. Consistently ranked among the world's finest organic olive oils, currently rated in the top 20 of the World's Best Olive Oils rankings.

The 1L tin is the practical format for regular use — better protection from light than glass, and more economical per millilitre. Best used cold for dressings, salads, pasta, and cold soups, though it handles moderate-heat cooking well without significant flavour loss.

Producer: Oro del Desierto is produced at Finca el Vicario, a single organic estate in the Tabernas Desert in Almería. The farm's extreme environment — arid conditions, high altitude, and intense sunlight — forces the olive trees to develop concentrated, complex fruit. All olives are harvested early and processed using cold two-phase extraction to preserve flavour and nutritional integrity. The estate holds full organic certification across its entire operation.
