Tasting: Le Carillon D'Angelus 2012 is a superb expression of the Angelus estate’s finesse. The wine opens with vibrant red fruit aromas of ripe cherries and cassis, beautifully layered with subtle oak spices, violets, and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, it reveals a structured yet velvety mouthfeel, with a balance of rich dark fruit, fine tannins, and a long, elegant finish. A wine of great complexity and depth, showcasing both power and refinement.
Pairing: Pair this wine with the finest cuts of meat such as Lumina Lamb, Miguel Vegara Beef, or an exquisite Cinco Jotas Presa. The production of Le Carillon reflects the same philosophy, offering a more accessible yet highly refined expression of the estate’s terroir.
Vintage: The 2012 vintage in Bordeaux was marked by a cool spring, followed by a warm and dry summer that allowed for a steady ripening of the grapes. This vintage benefited from ideal conditions in September, which allowed the Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes to reach optimal maturity. The result is a wine with balanced acidity, ripe fruit flavours, and excellent ageing potential.
