Tasting: This exceptional white Reserva displays vibrant intensity with citrus and pastry aromas, revealing creamy lemon curd, lime, green spice and brioche notes. Fresh and tangy with bright acidity that brings a mouthwatering quality to the palate. Well-framed and textured with subtle oak integration, offering an enchanting complexity between creaminess, freshness and distinctive minerality that leads to a lingering finish.
Pairing: This versatile white pairs beautifully with Chilean Sea Bass with White Truffle, or Alaskan Black Cod with wild Chanterelles. The wine's bright acidity complements Shark Bay Prawns with Sturia Oscietra Caviar, whilst its creamy texture makes it ideal with Fort Saint Antoine Comté or Vacherin Mont d'Or. Excellent with asian cuisine and sushi.
Producer: Founded in 1989 by Fernando Remírez de Ganuza in Samaniego, La Rioja Alavesa, this prestigious bodega was built on the philosophy of minimal intervention and exhaustive grape selection to remain faithful to both vineyard and vintage. Remírez de Ganuza pioneered numerous innovations in Rioja, from selection tables to new French oak aging, becoming renowned for traditional-method wines with exceptional aging potential. This exclusive white Reserva sees fewer than 5,000 bottles produced each vintage from 60-year-old vines.
Vintage: The 2020 vintage in Rioja was officially rated "Very Good" by the Control Board. Despite early challenges from mildew and a rainy spring, the year produced wines of exceptional quality with ideal phenolic ripening. The vintage showed great professionalism in overcoming adversity, resulting in white wines with high aromatic intensity, excellent acidity and precise winemaking that captured the unique character of Rioja's white wine tradition.
