Tasting: Brilliant ruby red with garnet highlights. The bouquet offers enticing aromas of ripe cherry, blackcurrant, violet, and sweet spices, complemented by notes of vanilla, tobacco, and leather from careful oak ageing. The palate is full-bodied yet elegant, with vibrant acidity balancing rich fruit flavours and silky tannins. Complex layers of dark fruit, herbs, and mineral notes lead to a persistent, harmonious finish with hints of cocoa and Mediterranean scrub.
Pairing: Magnificent with Florentine steak, roasted game birds, aged Tuscan cheeses, or osso buco. Also excellent alongside rich pasta dishes with wild boar ragu or grilled lamb with rosemary.
Producer: Marchesi Antinori created Tignanello in 1971 as a revolutionary expression of Tuscan winemaking, becoming one of the first Super Tuscans to blend international varietals with indigenous Sangiovese. This iconic wine comes from the estate's prized 47-hectare Tignanello vineyard in the heart of Chianti Classico, where the Antinori family has been crafting exceptional wines for over 600 years. With 26 generations of winemaking expertise, Antinori continues to push boundaries whilst respecting tradition, making Tignanello a benchmark for modern Italian wine excellence.
