Producer: Château de Beaucastel, under the stewardship of the Perrin family since 1909, stands as a benchmark for traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape. They maintain the historic practice of using all 13 permitted grape varieties, with a higher proportion of Mourvèdre than most estates. The family's commitment to biodynamic farming, established in 1974, was pioneering for the region. Their traditional vinification includes whole-cluster fermentation and ageing in large oak foudres.

2012 represents a superb year in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A warm, dry growing season with beneficial cooling nights led to perfect ripening conditions. September brought ideal weather for harvest, resulting in wines of exceptional concentration and freshness, with ripe tannins and remarkable aromatic complexity.
