Producer: Al-Cantàra was founded in 2005 on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, near Randazzo — one of Sicily's most distinctive viticultural sites, where volcanic soils, altitude and a long growing season produce wines unlike any others in Italy. The estate works exclusively from its own vineyards, with native varieties at the core: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante alongside small plantings of international grapes. The recognition has followed — most recently named Winery of the Year at Vinitaly 2023.

'A Nutturna is a rare expression: Nerello Mascalese vinified as a white wine. The fruit comes from a two-hectare parcel at 620 metres on volcanic, mineral-rich soils, planted in 2005 and farmed organically with green manure. Whole bunches are pressed and only the free-run juice is used; fermentation runs cool, followed by four to six months on noble lees in stainless steel and another six in bottle. The result is striking — yellow spices, ripe stone fruit, hints of liquorice, mint and wild herbs on the nose, with real freshness and amplitude on the palate. The savouriness Etna whites are known for runs clean through to a long, mineral close. A wine with the structure to age a decade.
