BLEU D'AUVERGNE
Bleu d'Auvergne
Origin: Puy de Dome, France
This distinguished mould-ripened cheese hails from the volcanic landscapes of the Puy de Dome region in central France. The ivory and blue-veined paste is encased in a natural grey rind, creating a cheese with slightly crumbly texture balanced by delicate creaminess. The flavour profile is rich, powerful and complex with an intense blue character that showcases the terroir of the Auvergne mountains.
The unique volcanic soil and mountain air of the Puy de Dome create perfect conditions for developing the cheese's distinctive blue veining and complex flavour. The careful balance between crumbly texture and creamy richness delivers an authentic taste of French artisanal cheesemaking at its finest.
Crumble over salads or melt into sauces for pasta. Serve on a cheese board with pears, walnuts and crusty bread. The intense flavour makes it perfect for cooking - try melted over steak or stirred into a creamy blue cheese sauce.
Producer: Made using traditional methods in the heart of the Auvergne region, where generations of cheesemakers have perfected this AOC-protected blue cheese using local milk from grass-fed cattle.
Net: 200g
Allergens: Contains milk. May contain traces of nuts.
