The undisputed "King of Cheeses," this soft-ripened cow's milk cheese from the Île-de-France region represents the pinnacle of French cheesemaking artistry. Made with raw milk and aged for a minimum of four weeks, Brie de Meaux develops its characteristic white, bloomy rind with reddish streaks and creamy, straw-coloured interior. The texture progresses from firm at the edges to molten at the centre when perfectly ripe.
The complex flavour profile balances earthy, mushroom notes with rich, buttery undertones and a subtle tang that builds on the palate. This authentic Brie de Meaux showcases the terroir of the Seine-et-Marne region, where the specific climate and traditional production methods create a cheese of unparalleled sophistication and depth.
Remove from refrigeration 1-2 hours before serving to allow full flavour development. The entire cheese, including the white rind, is edible. Excellent with crusty bread, fresh fruit, and walnuts. Pairs beautifully with Champagne or light red wines.
