Château Léoville Las Cases is one of the great "Super Seconds" of Bordeaux — classified a Deuxième Cru in 1855, but consistently made and priced at First Growth level. The estate sits at the northern edge of Saint-Julien, where its walled Grand Enclos vineyard shares the same gravel bank as Château Latour, separated only by a stream. The Delon family have owned and run it since the mid-nineteenth century.

Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant and famously structured, Las Cases is a wine of quiet authority: dark, deep, tightly wound in youth, drinking on a fifteen- to fifty-year arc. Blackcurrant, cedar, pencil shavings and graphite are the hallmarks, framed by fine-grained tannins and the mineral austerity of Saint-Julien's greatest terroir.

Vintage 2003: Bordeaux's hottest vintage on record. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc — a blend the Delons rescued through the estate's deep gravel soils and the cooling proximity of the Gironde. More open and fleshy than a classic Las Cases, showing cassis, pencil lead, chocolate, violet and chalky minerality, with ripe velvety tannins. Drinking beautifully now and holding through the mid-2030s. Widely considered one of the finest wines of a difficult vintage.

Can we guarantee delivery on a specific day? Unfortunately not - we rely on third-party couriers and can't control their schedules. All items leave us in perfect condition with good use-by dates, but final timing depends on the courier.
