NOIRMOUTIER POTATOES
Origin: France
Season: May - August
Premium French Island Variety
Noirmoutier potatoes are an exceptional French variety distinguished by their fairly round shape and fine, delicate yellow skin that contributes significantly to their remarkable flavour profile. Grown exclusively on the island of Noirmoutier off France's Atlantic coast, these potatoes benefit from a unique terroir that creates their distinctive taste characteristics.
The island's distinctive soil composition and maritime climate impart an extraordinary flavour to these potatoes that sets them apart from all other varieties. The natural salinity from the surrounding sea, combined with the island's mineral-rich earth, creates a complex taste featuring sweet and salty notes with subtle hints of lemon and even walnut undertones. This sophisticated flavour profile makes them highly prized by discerning cooks and professional chefs.
Cooking: For optimal results, cook Noirmoutier potatoes in gently simmering salted water for 8 to 10 minutes until tender. After cooking, strain thoroughly and allow them to rest for at least 10 minutes. This resting period is crucial as it allows the natural starches within the potato to firm up, creating the perfect texture and preventing them from becoming mushy.
Serve simply with high-quality butter, sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, and a generous sprinkling of chopped fines herbes such as chives, parsley, tarragon, and chervil to complement their delicate flavour.
These potatoes share similarities with traditional Jersey Royals but offer a more developed and complex flavour profile with a slightly waxy texture that holds well during cooking. Their refined taste and firm texture make them particularly well-suited to elegant spring dishes, where they pair exceptionally with roasted rack of lamb and seasonal spring vegetables. The potatoes' natural sweetness and mineral complexity enhance rather than compete with delicate proteins and fresh seasonal produce.

Our Delivery Service
We use reliable third-party express courier services and high-quality insulated packaging. While our couriers are generally excellent, occasional delays can happen. We pack everything to stay fresh, even if transit takes a little longer.
Time-Sensitive & Event Orders
Can we guarantee delivery on a specific day? Unfortunately not - we rely on third-party couriers and can't control their schedules. All items leave us in perfect condition with good use-by dates, but final timing depends on the courier.
If your order is for a specific event, let us know in the notes section at checkout. We can often dispatch a day earlier to give you the best chance of timely arrival.
DELIVERY Changes After Dispatch
Once dispatched, your package is with the courier and we're unable to redirect it or change delivery details.
Saturday Delivery
Saturday delivery is available, though please note our couriers don't operate phone support at weekends and our office is closed. For event-critical orders, a weekday delivery gives us more flexibility to help if any issues arise.
