Producer: Twelve Clones is Morgan's flagship Pinot Noir, drawn from the Santa Lucia Highlands — the cool, wind-raked bench above the Salinas Valley where afternoon ocean air slows ripening and holds acidity. The name refers to the breadth of clonal material that goes into the blend: a deliberately wide selection, each clone contributing a different facet of fruit, structure and aromatics, layered into a single wine of greater complexity than any one parcel could give.
Morgan has worked these vineyards since the family established the estate, with a long-held focus on cool-climate sites and restrained, food-driven winemaking. Aged in French oak, the wine is supple and aromatic — dark cherry and wild berry lifted by savoury, earthy complexity, with the freshness the Highlands are known for and tannins that frame rather than dominate. A serious California Pinot built for the table.
