This remarkable French cheese captivates with its distinctive shape featuring a characteristic basin or "fountain" at its summit, created by the unique ripening process where the Langres is turned only twice during maturation. Like its cousin Époisses, this cheese is regularly washed with salt water, developing a striking bright orange crust that signals its bold character. Beneath this vibrant exterior lies an ivory-white paste with exceptional suppleness and creamy texture that perfectly balances richness with refinement.
The minimal turning during ripening creates the signature fountain shape whilst allowing the cheese to develop from the outside in, creating layers of flavour and texture. The salt-water washing develops the distinctive orange rind and contributes to the cheese's complex, tangy character whilst the creamy interior provides luxurious mouthfeel.
Serve at room temperature to appreciate the creamy texture. The traditional way is to pour a splash of Champagne or white wine into the fountain depression before eating. Pair with crusty bread and cornichons, or enjoy simply with fresh baguette to let the cheese's character shine.

All items leave our facility in perfect condition with a good use-by date. Please consider this when selecting your delivery date. Once dispatched, the package is under the responsibility of our couriers, making it difficult to change the delivery address or expedite delays.
We do offer Saturday delivery, but please note that our couriers do not operate phone support at weekends, and our customer service is closed. For time-sensitive deliveries, we recommend choosing a weekday to allow us to address any issues promptly.
