Indulge in excellence year-round with these meticulously crafted first-boiled extra brushed black truffles from Plantin. Harvested at peak maturity, these truffles boast a consistent, even shape. Termed "first boil," they undergo a precise heating process with brine just once, preserving their precious aromas. This method ensures that the captivating essence of black truffles can be savoured throughout the year.
The preservation process involves carefully selecting fresh black truffles, placing them in jars, and subjecting them to sterilisation in an autoclave at elevated temperatures.
To fully appreciate the flavours of preserved black truffles, allow 10-15 grams per person.
If you have experience with fresh truffles, be aware that preserved truffles won't offer the same immediate intensity. While they possess exceptional aromas, the preservation process alters their original fresh flavour. To revive their essence, carefully remove the truffle from the jar, allowing it to rest on a towel. Gently pat dry any remaining liquid. Thinly slice the truffle with a truffle slicer and incorporate the slices and their juice into your dishes and sauces at the end of the cooking process. Avoid consuming them raw, as their full flavour is best revealed through gentle heating—ideal companions for risottos, pâtés, or poultry.

Can we guarantee delivery on a specific day? Unfortunately not - we rely on third-party couriers and can't control their schedules. All items leave us in perfect condition with good use-by dates, but final timing depends on the courier.
If your order is for a specific event, let us know in the notes section at checkout. We can often dispatch a day earlier to give you the best chance of timely arrival.
