Tanzanian Vanilla, also known as Kilimanjaro Vanilla, is cultivated at the foot of the famous Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. This region provides ideal conditions for growing vanilla, which is reflected in the exceptional quality of this variety. Kilimanjaro Vanilla is renowned for its unique aromatic profile, with distinct notes of cocoa. It pairs well with both sweet and savoury dishes.

Tanzanian Vanilla stands out with its rich and complex aroma profile. The Aromas are fruity and slightly spicy, with notes of creamy caramel and hot plum jam, perfect for chocolate desserts. For savoury dishes, try a touch of Tanzanian Vanilla in a duck à l'orange, a marinade for grilled meats, or sweet and sour sauces to create a harmonious balance between sweet and savoury flavours.

Terre Exotique meticulously chooses its vanilla from the finest plantations. They handpick only the 'Gourmet' or 'TK' pods, characterised by their rich oil content, plumpness, full-bodied texture, and deep black or dark brown colour. Crafting a superior pod is a patient process that takes between 6 and 12 months and is followed by a 90-day maturation period.

Before opening, the tube should be kept in a cool, dry place. Once opened, we recommend you keep your vanilla in the fridge to stop it from drying out.
