A truffle pesto from Urbani — classic Italian basil pesto made with Grana Padano DOP, Pecorino Romano, pine nuts, and extra virgin olive oil, with 3% summer truffle breakings (Tuber aestivum Vitt.) stirred through. The basil is the backbone at 22%, providing the bright, herbaceous base that pesto needs, while the truffle adds an earthy depth underneath that lifts the whole thing into different territory from a standard pesto.

This is not a truffle product that happens to contain basil. It is a proper pesto — with real DOP cheese, real pine nuts, real basil — that happens to contain truffle. The balance is right: you taste pesto first, then the truffle arrives underneath, and the two work together rather than competing. It is more versatile than a pure truffle sauce because the basil and cheese give it structure and a flavour profile that works in contexts where straight truffle would be too one-dimensional.

Toss through pasta, spread on bruschetta, stir into risotto, or use as an accompaniment to grilled vegetables, chicken, or fish. It also works well as a sandwich spread or stirred into a warm potato salad.
