WILD ARGENTINIAN PRAWNS

Wild Argentinian prawns are amongst the most prized crustaceans in the world, harvested from the pristine cold waters of the South Atlantic off Patagonia. These exceptional prawns are renowned for their sweet, delicate flavour and succulent texture, similar to the finest Mediterranean gambero rosso.

Unlike farmed prawns, these are caught wild using sustainable fishing methods in their natural habitat, where the cold, clean waters of the Argentine continental shelf produce crustaceans of exceptional quality. The prawns feed on a natural diet of plankton and krill, which contributes to their distinctive sweet flavour and firm, meaty texture.

The flesh is tender and juicy with a natural sweetness that requires minimal seasoning. Their pale pink shells are a natural characteristic of this species – no artificial colouring is used. These prawns are perfect for simple preparations that allow their pure, sweet flavour to shine: grilled with garlic and lemon, pan-fried in butter, or served simply with aioli.

Supplied raw and frozen to preserve their freshness, these prawns are shell-on. Each prawn is substantial in size, with approximately 15 prawns per kilogram, making them ideal for elegant presentations and special occasions.

Grill or barbecue with olive oil, garlic, and fresh herbs; pan-fry in butter with chilli and parsley; poach gently for prawn cocktail; or add to paella and seafood rice dishes.

Keep frozen at -18°C until required. Once defrosted, store in the refrigerator and consume within 24 hours. Do not refreeze once thawed.
