Why Terre Exotique
Most supermarket spices are blended from multiple origins, packed in bulk, and sit on shelves for months or years before they reach you. The result is spices that look right but have lost much of their aroma and potency. Terre Exotique take a different approach: single-origin sourcing wherever possible, direct relationships with growers, and a focus on freshness and traceability. Their peppers come from named estates in Madagascar, Cameroon, and the wild forests of Madagascar (Voatsiperifery). Their salts are sourced from specific locations — Fleur de Sel from Ile de Ré, Persian Blue Salt from ancient Iranian salt mines, Viking Smoked Salt using traditional Scandinavian smoking methods. Salts
Salt is the most fundamental seasoning in cooking, and quality varies enormously. We carry Terre Exotique's range of specialist salts: Fleur de Sel from Ile de Ré — the classic French finishing salt, hand-harvested from the surface of salt pans — alongside Himalayan Pink Salt, Persian Blue Salt, Black Salt, and Viking Smoked Salt. Each has a distinct mineral profile, texture, and use. Fleur de Sel is a finishing salt, used at the table or added at the last moment. Smoked salt adds depth to grilled meats and vegetables. Peppers
Pepper is the world's most traded spice, and most of it is generic, stale, and indistinguishable. Terre Exotique's peppers are single-origin and freshly packed. Black Madagascar is the benchmark — aromatic, pungent, and well-balanced. Voatsiperifery is a wild pepper foraged from the forests of Madagascar — rare, citrusy, and with a distinctive floral heat. All spices and seasonings are ambient, shelf-stable products. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light.
