Tasting: A magnificent expression of terroir, showing remarkable depth and complexity. The nose reveals dark cherries, wild strawberries, and forest floor, with subtle hints of violet and spice. The palate demonstrates exceptional structure and finesse, with silky tannins and a profound mineral core. 

Pairing: This noble Grand Cru calls for equally distinguished accompaniments. Exceptional with Poulet de Bresse in a classic red wine reduction, or Sashi Beef grilled to medium-rare. For autumn dining, pair with wild Ceps and Morels sautéed in butter. The wine's structure and complexity beautifully complement aged Fort Saint Antoine Comté or a perfectly ripe Vacherin Mont d'Or. During truffle season, white truffle shaved over fresh pasta creates an unforgettable pairing.

Their commitment to expressing authentic terroir is exemplified by their significant holdings in Clos Vougeot, where they own 2.15 hectares in the mid-slope section, historically considered the vineyard's sweet spot. Technical Director Frédéric Barnier continues the house's tradition of excellence, maintaining time-honoured vineyard practices while embracing modern precision in the cellar.

Vintage: 2013 presented significant challenges in Burgundy, with a cool, wet spring followed by hail in July. However, a warm, dry September proved crucial for ripening. The best producers, like Jadot, benefited from careful selection and lower yields, producing wines of remarkable concentration and classical structure, though in limited quantities.
